    Before I start designing the web page I need to see what type of content and information my competitors are providing.

    Everyone’s sleep is different and everyone has a unique schedule. It displays your personalized sleep stats so you can see how your sleep habits may change and how this affects you.

    Good Night includes a graph that depicts how much you are sleeping and descriptors of your sleep that include:

    1) Average Sleep Amount.
    2) Sleep Amount Per Day.
    3) Average Number of Awakening.
    4) Awakenings Per Day.
    5) Sleep Consistency.
    6) Vigilance Score.

    Proactive Sleep

    Alarm clock for your iPhone or iPod Touch that gives you personalized information on your sleep and is designed to promote behaviors related to getting a good night sleep.
    NYU Sleep Disorder center

    The New York University School of Medicine Sleep Disorders Center is actively engaged in research. Areas of interest include:

    • The control of breathing and the impact of apnea on daytime function. We are actively investigating causes of daytime symptoms of sleep apnea.
    • Evaluation of new pharmacologic agents for Excessive Daytime Sleepiness. We are active in studying new drugs persons with narcolepsy.
    • Evaluation of new pharmacologic agents for insomnia.
    • A multi-center NIH funded five year initiative to investigate the correlation of sleep apnea with cardiovascular risk factors- now entering its second cycle.
    • The instrumentation of recording sleep and breathing particularly as it pertains to finding surrogates for present testing parameters.The center is an active beta site for several major equipment firms.

    The Kit (I am still deciding on a name) is a device which tracks, measures and records your sleeping patterns. It will consists of a small accelerometer and a pressure sensor attached to or embedded in your pillow (maybe next to your bed), which communicates via Wi Fi to a database, that stores your information online. Based on your patterns we will make recommendations to ensure that you can acquire a healthier sleeping experience.

    Online integration

    In addition to tracking someones sleeping patterns statistics, the Kit (I am still deciding on a name) directly communicates with the Sleepy Kit website. Data can be automatically uploaded to the website during an sync with the Sleepy Kit or through another program via the website’s. Sleeping data is stored in XML files online.
